About the Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be working as part of a growing team within the Business Services department. The company is seeking to recruit an individual who is experienced in book-keeping, management accounts, and trial balance preparation.
About the Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with all day-to-day book-keeping, management reporting, VAT obligations, and preparation of trial balance for a range of business clients. This will include:
- Providing book-keeping services to clients, from source documents to preparing the trial balance and subsequent liaison with other teams.
- Managing a portfolio of clients, including providing support and training on accounting software and managing deadlines in line with client expectations.
- Reconciling multiple bank accounts and processing quarterly and monthly VAT returns.
- Producing quarterly and monthly Management Accounts.
- Supporting the team manager with management responsibilities for the team, including reviewing junior members of the team's day-to-day work activities and providing on-the-job training.
- Monitoring WIP on clients and leading on billing activities as per the company's policies.
- Managing client relationships, including meeting clients periodically, managing fees, and developing relationships.
- Contributing towards upskilling and mentoring Associates as part of delivering client work.
About the Applicant:
The successful candidate will be an experienced book-keeper with a strong background in accounting and book-keeping. The ideal candidate will have:
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA qualified) or qualified AAT level 4 and at least 1 year's post-qualification experience.
- At least 3 years' experience in a book-keeping role.
- Experience working with Xero to produce VAT returns and management reports.
- A basic knowledge of VAT concepts and tax planning ideas for clients.
- Experience in book-keeping, management accounts, and trial balance preparation.
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice.
