Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Greenwich. As an Early Years SEN Support Specialist, you will work closely with our Early Years team to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and provide individualized support to help them thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to children with SEN, including those with physical, emotional, or learning difficulties.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning activities.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging children's social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to monitor and assess students' progress and adapt support as needed.
  • Help with classroom management and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with parents and external agencies to support the child's development and learning goals.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children, particularly within an EYFS or SEN setting.
  • Knowledge of EYFS framework and SEN provisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare and Education, SEN qualifications, or equivalent experience).
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required.
