PRU Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PRU Teaching Assistant to join our team at a PRU Secondary School in Newham. As a PRU Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students aged 14-16 in developing vital life skills, with the aim of aiding their reintegration into mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in developing life skills and promoting reintegration into mainstream education
  • Manage challenging behaviour and work closely with teachers to develop strategies for supporting students
  • Utilize experience in behaviour management and prior experience in a PRU or similar setting is preferable
  • Guide and motivate young people through sports coaching or mentoring
About the School:

This PRU School is based in Newham, with close transport links to the DLR. The school is small and cares for a total of 18 students, most of which have been excluded from a mainstream school. The school maintains a Good rating issued by Ofsted as of 2022.
