About the Role:

Hays Education is working with secondary schools across the UK to find qualified teaching assistants for permanent, long-term, and day-to-day bookings. As a teaching assistant, you will be supporting the class teacher in KS3 or KS4 classes to deliver the curriculum effectively.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 with SEN pupils and take group work sessions outside the classroom.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering the curriculum effectively.
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Provide individualized support to students with varying needs.
  • Work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
  • Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other school staff.

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1/2/3).
  • Have at least 1 year of experience working with children or in a school setting.
  • Be confident in supporting students with maths and English, as well as other subjects.
  • Be able to offer 1:1 and group sessions.
  • Have strong relationship-building skills.
