As a Cybersecurity Operations Analyst within the Cyber and Technology Controls sector, your role will be pivotal in protecting the organization's digital resources and infrastructure. You will actively engage in identifying, evaluating, and addressing threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents. Working alongside diverse teams, you will foster a unified approach to cybersecurity and guide employees on best practices, policies, and procedures. Your contributions will significantly influence the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive information and systems, ensuring a robust digital environment for JPMorgan Chase.
As part of the Acquisition Cybersecurity Team (ACT), you will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats related to acquisitions. The team also focuses on vulnerability intelligence, incident response, and the dissemination of intelligence, providing a link to broader cybersecurity services within CTC Operations. Your role will challenge you with unique environments for each acquisition, requiring a strong technical foundation and an investigative mindset. Creative problem-solving will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security investigations, log analysis, threat hunting, and vulnerability assessments to proactively identify and mitigate risks and breaches.
- Utilize advanced security tools and technologies, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), intrusion detection systems, endpoint detection, and malware analysis, to enhance threat detection and response.
- Collaborate with various teams to implement integrated security strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of security operations processes, suggesting improvements to threat detection and response protocols.
- Provide intelligence services to acquisitions, including the preparation and distribution of vulnerability and intelligence reports.
- Maintain regular communication with acquisitions to understand their cybersecurity posture and unique challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the triage and remediation of security alerts, taking ownership of investigations and participating actively in incident response.
- Adhere to a shift schedule and comply with company-wide attendance policies.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations or security system management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages for automating security tasks.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and network security.
- Experience with security tools, including SIEM, intrusion detection systems, and malware analysis.
- Knowledge of how adversaries compromise networks and the various stages of an attack.
- Familiarity with enterprise security technologies and the ability to identify signs of compromise in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex issues to a diverse audience.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities.
- Familiarity with a variety of cybersecurity tools.
- Experience with Extended Detection & Response (XDR) tools.
- Experience in reviewing vulnerabilities and assessing the effectiveness of mitigatory measures.
- A basic understanding of cloud architecture and how attackers exploit these platforms.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript in a cybersecurity context.
- Ability to manage changing workloads and competing priorities.
- Experience in incident response.
