Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to support the Defence College of Air and Space Operations (DCASO) in enhancing the training and development of Air Operations personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, developing, and delivering advanced educational strategies and human performance training to improve course pass rates and individual potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the research and development of pedagogical strategies, effective learning environments, and trainee/trainer engagement in Air Operations training.
  • Develop and deliver human performance training for Air Operations personnel, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant research and acting as an intelligent customer.
  • Stay current with military, civilian, and academic developments in education and training and their potential application to Air Operations.
  • Deliver lessons to Air Operations trainers on the psychological aspects of the training environment and factors affecting performance.
  • Provide specialist educational advice and performance coaching to support individual learning and enhance trainee and trainer performance.
  • Represent the DCASO at relevant working group meetings and committees.
  • Maintain a close liaison with other organisations involved in human performance research and training.

Requirements

  • Experience in research and development of human performance.
  • Experience conducting assessments and studies into training quality and methodologies.
  • Experience delivering psychological support and coaching.
  • Excellent report writing and presentational skills.
  • Proven IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences.
