Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Inpatient services at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal. This is a full-time position (10 PAs) with excellent opportunities for professional development and a competitive remuneration package.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead an MDT, supported by a range of health professionals, and contribute to the Consultant On Call rota. The Kentmere Ward has 12 beds, with modern en-suite bedrooms, an improved light, airy environment, space for recreation and therapeutic activity, and improved garden and courtyard areas.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will have the opportunity to develop your interests in education, research, leadership, and more alongside your clinical role. We take an innovative and flexible approach to planning your job with you, focusing on work-life balance to enable you to make the most of all that living and working in Lancashire and South Cumbria has to offer.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise
  • On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months from time of interview
  • Section 12 approved
  • AC status or within 6 months from time of interview
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to this role
