Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Internal Controls Specialist to join our client, a leading underwriter in the London market, on an interim basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining their internal control framework, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a robust control environment to mitigate financial risks.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with financial processes and transactions.
  • Design and implement effective SOX testing protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and report on control remediation processes to address deficiencies and improve control performance.
  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on controls and SOX compliance to support business change initiatives.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified accountant with a strong background in internal audit or risk management, gained within the general or Lloyd's/London insurance market. You should have a good understanding of SOX environments and be able to communicate complex ideas effectively.
