Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Manager

Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Manager to join their team. As a subject matter expert in mechanical building services design, you will lead day-to-day design management of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Mechanical Design Management for MEP and FM Capital Works projects.
  • Ensure Principal Contractor and Principal Designer commitments under the Building Safety Act are met.
  • Act as building services Authorised Design Manager, determining Design Responsibilities and Project Team responsibilities.
  • Support tender applications and PCSA periods, promoting standardisation of approaches and ensuring Skanska minimum standards are met.
  • Coordinate design reviews with subject matter experts and promote effective Design Management processes.
  • Review and score MEP and FM design consultant performances.
  • Lead on internal CPD events to increase technical knowledge within the business.
Requirements:
  • Expert understanding and experience of Design Management.
  • Expert understanding and experience of mechanical building services design.
  • Good understanding of Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of HTM 06 and JSP.
  • Comfortable with handling data in Excel and PowerBI.
  • Experience working with SharePoint applications.
