We are seeking a Behavioral Support Practitioner to contribute to our residential service, Ruddington View. This service fosters a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, supported by a dynamic team dedicated to assisting a remarkable group of individuals.
As a Behavioral Support Practitioner, your role will involve leading the management of behaviors that may cause distress or concern for individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will provide expertise, guidance, and support to the staff team at our service. Responsibilities may include conducting comprehensive behavioral assessments, developing effective risk assessments, and creating detailed behavior support plans. You will monitor the improved outcomes for individuals and implement protocols and staff training as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the support team to conduct functional behavior assessments and service-level evaluations.
- Develop positive behavior support plans that facilitate therapeutic interventions within the PBS framework.
- Manage a complex caseload, prioritizing and adapting according to individual needs.
- Engage in initial assessments and transition work, often from hospital settings.
- Deliver Safety Intervention and PBS training to support teams, where applicable.
- Monitor, evaluate, and minimize the use of restrictive practices and physical interventions within Voyage Care Services.
- Work towards enhancing the quality of life for the individuals we support.
- Coach the support team in delivering exceptional support using approaches such as Active Support.
- Assist the team in developing skills for monitoring and evaluating outcomes, utilizing methods like Periodic Service Review.
- Collaborate effectively with local external professionals.
- Build supportive relationships with families.
- Maintain close connections with the Local Authority to engage in their PBS training and support initiatives.
- Participate in professional forums to ensure training and expertise remain current.
- Support the development and delivery of training programs designed for staff.
- Work independently while demonstrating initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a Behavioral Support Practitioner who possesses both the right experience and values. A Full UK Driving License, a flexible approach, and proven clinical supervisory experience are essential.
