Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor focused on In-Life Partner Management, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing commercial agreements and ensuring effective management of financial resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the comprehensive management of all commercial agreements, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
- Lead the Commercial Audit function, identifying and recovering discrepancies in spending through meticulous audits.
- Oversee the Non-Standards function, assessing expenditures not covered by contracts and benchmarking against industry standards.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for governance processes, managing escalations and driving resolutions.
- Facilitate in-life commercial governance, providing education to partners and stakeholders to mitigate financial risks.
Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various teams:
- Collaborate closely with Partner Managers to resolve in-life issues and participate in performance review discussions.
- Engage with partner commercial teams to address contractual challenges and facilitate cost recovery.
- Work alongside Procurement and Change Teams to implement strategic resolutions for contractual matters.
- Coordinate with internal teams to manage and resolve in-life issues effectively.
- Prepare detailed briefings on key commercial matters for internal and partner stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with MRICS accreditation.
- Experience in civil engineering, preferably within the utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of construction industry standards and regulations.
- Proven experience in collaborative environments and effective stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Solid financial acumen and practical knowledge of civil engineering technologies.
- Exceptional presentation skills across various formats.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in identifying improvement opportunities and conducting root cause analysis.
- Possess a valid UK driving license and be open to travel as necessary.
