We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at British Garden Centres. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious meals to a high standard, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and a memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook food to a high standard, using a variety of ingredients and cooking techniques.
- Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels, minimizing waste and ensuring that all ingredients are used effectively.
- Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic, and tidy at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor portion sizes and waste, ensuring that our customers receive the best value for money.
- Prepare and present carvery dishes to a high standard, using a variety of ingredients and cooking techniques.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order.
- Complete relevant paperwork and records as required, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately recorded.
- Experience of working in a commercial catering environment.
- Knowledge of carvery and ability to prepare and present dishes to a high standard.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of HACCP and allergens, meat weights, and portion control.
- Professionalism and reliability, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Level 2 basic food hygiene certification.
- No evening work, split shifts, or unsociable hours.
- Security of working in a well-established expanding family business.
- Rate of pay negotiable, dependent upon skills and experience.
- 50% meal discount at any BGC restaurant and 20% discount at any BGC store.
- Discount rates available at our Leisure Park.
