Support Assistant for Students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues

Job Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional support due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues.
Visa Sponsorship
Skilled Worker visas can be sponsored for this role.
Working Pattern
The successful candidate will work full-time, 35 hours per week, during term time only, Monday to Friday.
Contract Type
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
Pay Scale
The successful candidate will be paid on the NJC Scale 3, with spine points 5 or 6 determined after a successful interview.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. This will include:
- Working with students to develop their social, emotional and mental health skills
- Providing individual and group support to students
- Assisting students with their learning and behaviour
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive the best possible support
Requirements
The successful candidate will need to have:
- Experience of working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues
- Qualifications in, or willingness to work towards, accreditation of working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload
- Effective use of ICT to support learning
- Understanding of relevant policies and codes of practice
