Job Overview

As a Class 2 Driver with TVS SCS, you will play a critical role in the delivery of heavy equipment and plant to various locations across the North West region. This includes remote store locations, plant, and equipment for Utilities contracts, including equipment for planned works to Sub Stations and treatment works such as electrical transformers, switchgear, water pumps, and pipes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Plant and Equipment: Safely and efficiently deliver plant and equipment to fixed sites on weekly replenishment stock v orders.
  • Planned Maintenance Work: Deliver plant and equipment for planned maintenance work, ensuring timely and effective completion of tasks.
  • Emergency Outage Situations: Respond to emergency outage situations, delivering plant and equipment as required to minimize downtime.
  • Rotating Shift Patterns: Cover out-of-hours rota and weekend rotation shift patterns, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Safe and Effective Delivery: Display a 'can-do' attitude and determination to deliver a safe, efficient, and effective delivery, identifying risks dynamically and ensuring a safe outcome.
  • Initiative and Adaptability: Use initiative with confidence and in a safe manner, adapting to situations in dynamic lifting environments.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Become an effective, supportive team member, communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Full UK Driving License: Possess a valid full UK driving license.
  • Class 2 License and Digital Tachograph Card: Hold a current Class 2 license and digital Tachograph card.
  • Manual Handling Operations Regulations: Understand and comply with manual handling operations regulations 1992 SI 2793.
  • Lorry-Mounted Crane Operator Training: Possess CSCS or ALLMI-approved lorry-mounted crane operator training license.
  • Lifting, Banksman, or Rigging Qualifications: Hold any associated lifting, Banksman, or rigging qualifications, which are a distinct advantage.
  • Proven Experience in Utilities Industry: Proven experience within the utilities or similar industry, conducting deliveries utilizing HIAB or similar equipment.
  • Heavy Machine and Plant Movement: High degree of experience relating to 'heavy' and 'difficult' machine and plant movement.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team or effectively on your own.
