About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Support Worker to join our dynamic Surgical Day Theatre and Outpatient department. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care within a fast-paced environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with qualified practitioners to provide holistic care to patients in both outpatient and day surgery settings.
- Conduct basic patient observations, including height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse, prior to outpatient appointments.
- Manage the smooth flow of the outpatient clinic, ensuring timely patient appointments and clear communication regarding schedules.
- Act as a chaperone during patient consultations and assist with physical examinations and procedures as directed by the consultant.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all patient interactions and care provided.
- Receive comprehensive training in phlebotomy within four months of commencing your role, contributing to the delivery of this essential service.
- Support theatre staff nurses by pre-assessing patients for suitability for surgery and assisting with their preparation and post-operative care.
- Contribute to patient follow-up appointments after surgery, ensuring continuity of care.
