Job Summary

We are seeking two suitably qualified and experienced podiatrists to join our established podiatry service. The successful candidates will have the skills and attributes required to work autonomously at band 6 level and will be supported with their continuous professional development.

Main Duties

The roles involve treatment of high-risk patients, diabetic and non-diabetic foot ulcers, complex home visits, and MSK podiatry intervention. The successful candidates will also be required to deliver preventative advice and guidance to patients and supervise other staff members and students.

Person Specification

The successful candidates will have:

  • A degree in podiatry
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialist area or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Current HCPC professional registration
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, and guidance relevant to clinical and service areas
  • Full understanding and application of relevant clinical practice, standards, and audit within identified clinical areas
  • Specialist understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards, and protocols within identified clinical areas
  • Evidence of undertaking audits and surveys
  • Basic IT skills
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidates will also have:

  • Developed to advanced or expert understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards, and protocols within identified clinical areas
  • Significant demonstrable experience of working as a podiatrist
  • Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
  • Experience of multi-agency and professional working
  • Experience of case load management within specialist service areas
  • Evidence of promoting and supporting active patient and relative involvement and participation
