Software Development Engineer II (Backend) Job Description

At ENGINEERINGUK, we're committed to delivering exceptional travel experiences for our customers. As a Software Development Engineer II (Backend), you'll play a critical role in improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of mid-to-large sized reliability projects
  • Develop and improve the quality of code and integrations in a continuously integrated environment
  • Collaborate with geographically distributed teams using agile methodologies
  • Proactively monitor application health and address issues through effective troubleshooting
  • Promote good development methodologies through code review and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
  • Strong Object-Oriented design knowledge and development experience with Java, Go, or Python
  • 3+ years of software development experience in a team environment
  • Experience with observability engineering and exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, or SaaS-based monitoring platforms
  • Experience with data streaming and messaging service platforms
  • Experience with deploying onto containerisation and orchestration platforms
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services
