Key Responsibilities

The selected individual will be integrated into a dedicated team of security personnel, rotating across multiple levels of the facility. The core mission is to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and property. Responsibilities include responding to emergency situations, managing conflicts, and de-escalating potentially volatile encounters. This role demands both physical and mental resilience, and personnel will be provided with essential protective gear, including body armor and uniforms.

Team Dynamics

The Security team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals is characterized by a collaborative environment where officers support and depend on one another's expertise. Continuous learning and discussion of incidents are encouraged to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.

Job Duties

The incumbent will be an integral member of the Security operational unit, tasked with executing various responsibilities aligned with the role's grade. Duties encompass maintaining security protocols within the facility, with an expectation of adaptability as tasks may evolve throughout the workday. High standards of service quality are paramount, in accordance with established security practices and organizational policies.

The role necessitates a foundational understanding of administrative and operational processes, utilizing both facility resources and IT systems to fulfill job requirements. Effective communication is essential, as the role involves responding to inquiries and providing assistance to staff and visitors, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • A valid SIA door supervisor license.
  • Prior experience in a comparable security setting.

Preferred

  • SIA CCTV license.
  • Background in conflict resolution and managing aggressive situations.
