About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal / Associate Engineer to join our Water Sector focused team at AtkinsRéalis, based in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and contributing to the delivery of engineering projects, particularly throughout the design development and construction stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.
  • Manage construction projects using the NEC suite of contracts, including assessment and negotiation of contract changes.
  • Engage with clients to provide technical civil engineering solutions and develop good working relationships.
  • Oversee teams responsible for design deliverables, including engineering design calculations, drawings, and contract documentation.
  • Ensure the quality of project work meets agreed standards and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain a proactive commitment to Health and Safety, with a good knowledge of CDM requirements.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level with a civil engineering bias, and professionally qualified member of a recognised engineering institution.
  • Experience of Construction Project Management using NEC Suite of Contracts.
  • Experience of developing civil engineering designs, specs, and contract documentation.
  • Proactive commitment to health and safety.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills for communicating with stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
  • NEC4 ECC PM Accreditation (training will be provided if not already held).
  • Demonstrable experience within the Water sector, or other civil engineering experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current design codes and design software relating to Civil and Water Engineering.
  • Previous experience working on UK Water frameworks.
  • Experience in leading engineering design teams.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams delivering projects.
