We are pleased to present a unique opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in Antimicrobials to become a vital member of our team. This role involves close collaboration with professionals across the healthcare system, providing expert clinical knowledge in the field of Antimicrobials.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Work autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary teams to enhance infection management and promote the judicious use of antibiotics.
- Collaborate with Consultant Microbiologists and Infection Prevention and Control teams to execute the organization's antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
- Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients, ensuring compliance with established service standards.

Job Duties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advocating for safe and evidence-based prescribing practices in alignment with local and national guidelines.
- Providing support to pharmacy staff regarding antimicrobial matters.
- Engaging in root cause analyses for trust-attributed Clostridium difficile cases.
- Facilitating effective communication to ensure seamless transitions of pharmaceutical care across different healthcare settings.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of pharmaceutical interventions and reporting findings to relevant teams.
- Participating in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies related to antimicrobial use.
- Contributing to the educational initiatives for staff regarding the appropriate use of antimicrobial agents.
Qualifications
Essential:
- MPharm or equivalent qualification.
- Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent (or actively pursuing).
- Hospital pharmacy experience in a relevant specialty.
- Experience in clinical audits.
Desirable:
- Independent prescriber qualification (or in training).
- Project management experience.
- Familiarity with electronic prescribing and medication administration systems.
Skills
Essential:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
