We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Professional to join our team and provide high-quality person-centered care to a young man with complex learning difficulties and health needs. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life, fostering independence and well-being within a supportive family environment.

About the Individual

You will be working with a 44-year-old young man who enjoys social interaction and has a positive outlook. He thrives in environments with consistent staff teams, allowing him to build trust and strong relationships. He is active and enjoys going for walks, exploring new places, and engaging in leisure activities such as swimming and attending events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Assist with accessing leisure activities and social engagements, ensuring his interests and preferences are met.
  • Monitor and manage his health needs, including PEG feeding, cough assist, and nocturnal non-invasive ventilation.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, alongside family members and other support professionals.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience in providing care to individuals with complex needs is essential. Formal training or informal experience will be considered. Further training will be provided where necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • A valid driving license and the ability to drive an automatic wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV).
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
