About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with complex medical and social issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assess and treat patients in medical wards, including those with multiple pathologies and complex medical and social issues.
  • To work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • To provide education and support to patients, families, and carers to promote independence and well-being.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of service-wide initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
  • To participate in the supervision, teaching, and appraisal of junior and student therapists.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who possesses the following skills and qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Experience of working in community services and with patients with complex medical and social issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
