Job Summary:

Contract Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in West Lothian. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for leading and managing engineering projects within the housing sector, ensuring timely and quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Design and Development: Prepare detailed engineering designs using AutoCAD for residential developments, roads, and infrastructure, taking into account local and national regulations.
  • Approval and Compliance: Oversee and coordinate road and infrastructure approvals, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Site Assessments and Evaluations: Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations to inform project decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are managed.
  • Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and review engineering reports, plans, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Ideally, experience in the housing sector or a focus on roads and infrastructure, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software, strong project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a valid driver's license.
