Job Overview

ArcelorMittal South Africa Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our Planning Policy team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the planning office and utilizing computer software to support maintenance functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning office and oversee the maintenance function
  • Utilize computer software to support maintenance activities
  • Conduct field inspections and develop work plans for maintenance jobs
  • Create and maintain plant history and technical files
  • Perform purchasing duties and stage materials as required
  • Evaluate job feedback and improve future work
  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel
  • Prepare reports and control cost expenditure
  • Manage inventory control and training and development
  • Work overtime and standby duty as required
Requirements
  • National Diploma in Engineering (NQF 6/10)
  • Preferably a Structured Junior Management Development Program
  • Computer literate with application of SAP, Microsoft Office, MS Projects, PIVOT etc.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in the maintenance of Coating Plants
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments
  • Able to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form
  • Able to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel
  • Able to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports and manuals
  • Able to wear all PPE and execute all physical duties within the office as well as on the plant
  • Must have a valid driver's license
