About the RoleThis is a hands-on position that will see you working closely with our Director of Engineering to develop and implement programs used on CNC machine tools. You will have the freedom to use your knowledge and experience to introduce and integrate new products smoothly into manufacture.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain programs for various manufacturing processes using CAM packages such as SmartCAM and GibbsCAM.
- Work closely with the factory floor team to ensure programs are suitable for manufacturing operations.
- Use ProEngineer to interrogate models and produce programs for complex machined profiles on milling, turning, and turn/mill machines.
- Manage the development of programs and methodologies for various manufacturing processes using specific and bespoke software.
- Estimate product costs for sales and assist with compiling machining time for quoting for new work.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of various machine and process protocols, ideally Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak, Mitsubishi, etc. You will also need to be able to validate generated software programs and have served a practical engineering apprenticeship.
We offer a competitive package including 31 days holiday, above average pension, and flexible working week across three shifts - Days, twilights, and nights.
