Welsh Language Support Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and responsible individual to work as a Welsh Speaking Learning Support Assistant in primary schools across the Carmarthenshire area on a full-time ongoing basis. The successful candidate will support infants and juniors, assisting in the delivery of lessons and activities in a safe and engaging manner.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the Welsh language and be passionate about working with children to help them strive and make their school experience a fun and safe environment. Responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of lesson plans and learning resources, encouraging positive behaviour, and supporting the teacher with classroom management.
Previous experience working with children or a child-based qualification is desirable, but we also consider candidates with transferable skills, such as experience in social care, coaching, or nursing. Teaching Assistants with qualifications in NVQ Level 2, NVQ Level 3, Higher Level Teaching Assistant, CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education, or BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing) are also welcome to apply.
As a Welsh Speaking Learning Support Assistant, you will be expected to:
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO, and class teachers
- Implement Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and monitor their progress
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
- Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
- Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
