Worcester, Worcestershire, United Kingdom Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

Join the dedicated team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, where we are excited to expand our Paediatric services. We are in the process of establishing a new Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) that will operate around the clock.

We are in search of skilled, motivated nursing professionals who can exhibit strong leadership capabilities and serve as exemplary role models. Experience in an acute Assessment Unit or Children’s Emergency Department is advantageous. The PAU will collaborate closely with the Children’s Emergency Department and Riverbank Children’s Ward.

You will be accountable for maintaining ward safety, ensuring visibility and accessibility to children, young individuals, their caregivers, and all members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

We promote innovative ideas and practices within a supportive framework, enhancing your skills and knowledge across various clinical areas. You will receive full support from colleagues committed to providing exceptional care to children, young individuals, and their families.

  • Engage with senior colleagues regarding nursing and medical developments affecting patients.
  • Ensure patient safety by delegating care to appropriately skilled nurses and reporting incidents to the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and/or Matron.
  • Assist other departments as needed for patients aged 0-17.
