About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Agrial Fresh Produce in Wigan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and reliable equipment to manufacturing colleagues, achieved through a healthy balance of hands-on competence, equipment knowledge, analysis of equipment performance, and strong communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
  2. Ensure assets are ready to produce products that meet excellent quality standards, dispatched on time and in full to customers.
  3. Develop and maintain a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work for all activities, properly risk assessed.
  4. Coach and train production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge and performance.
  5. Act with integrity to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focused continuous improvement.

Requirements

  1. Technical hands-on engineering experience, preferably through a recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing.
  2. Technical qualifications and competence in BTEC Engineering certificate or equivalent qualification.
  3. Broad knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical, and PLC/Inverter Assets.
  4. Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working regulations.
