Design Coordinator/Manager Job Description

Due to increased workload, we are seeking a Design Coordinator/Manager to join our dynamic and innovative team at Jackson Civil Engineering. This role will involve managing a design team, attending client meetings, and preparing design documents.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Proactively manage a design team, including consultants and specialist designers, to deliver high-quality design solutions.
  2. Attend client meetings, presenting and discussing design ideas and solutions to ensure client satisfaction.
  3. Prepare and review design documents, briefs, reports, and management plans to ensure compliance with scheme requirements.
  4. Develop and manage design programmes to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  5. Review design documents for buildability and value engineering opportunities, utilizing gained knowledge and experience to advise on design improvements.

Skills Required
  1. Excellent collaborative communication skills and proficiency in programming software.
  2. Understanding of design processes, procedures, guidance, codes, and standards, as well as common construction specifications.
  3. Strong management skills to encourage designers to provide on-time, right-first-time solutions, along with attention to detail.
