Key Responsibilities

In the capacity of an EAL Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in delivering specialized assistance to students who are acquiring English as an additional language. Your duties will encompass:

  • Facilitating the development of students' English language competencies, encompassing both oral and written forms.
  • Collaborating with educators to design and implement customized lesson plans that address the unique needs of EAL learners.
  • Engaging with students individually or in small groups to reinforce their learning and enhance their self-esteem.
  • Tracking student progress and communicating updates to educators and guardians.
  • Fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere that values diversity.
  • Assisting in the creation of educational resources and materials tailored for EAL students.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A sincere dedication to education and a desire to support student achievement.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience with EAL students or a background in linguistics, TESOL, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Patience, empathy, and an understanding of cultural differences.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other personnel.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in EAL support are preferred but not mandatory.
