Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) to join our client's dynamic team in the plastics industry. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems to minimize downtime.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures and breakdowns on production equipment, including injection moulding machines, extruders, and conveyors.
  3. Predictive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and predictive maintenance to identify potential issues before they cause equipment failure.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure machinery operates efficiently and meets production specifications.
  5. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
  6. Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
  7. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  8. Training and Development: Provide technical support and training to junior maintenance staff and operators.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the plastics industry but not a requirement.
  3. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Familiarity with PLCs and automated control systems is a plus.
  4. Certifications: Relevant certifications in mechanical maintenance and safety are desirable.
  5. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
