This award-winning consultancy specializes in civil, structural, and environmental engineering, particularly within the energy sector and highly regulated industries. With a strong emphasis on employee development and hybrid working arrangements, the company has earned a Gold Investors in People award and is looking to expand its operations in Runcorn by hiring a Lead Engineer.
This office-based position provides the opportunity to establish and lead a team while expanding the client portfolio and ensuring high-quality project delivery. Initially, responsibilities will include site assessments, competitive bidding, and project management. As the team develops, the successful candidate will mentor junior staff and contribute to further office growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, mentor, and enhance the skills of the engineering team.
- Conduct site visits to understand project scope and pricing for effective management of deliverables.
- Build external networks to optimize outreach to potential clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to devise and implement growth strategies.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in Civil/Structural engineering.
- Preferably, experience in mentoring and developing team competencies.
- Chartership status with a relevant professional body (MICE, ISTructE) is desirable; support will be provided for the right candidate to obtain this.
This position is ideal for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer looking to advance into a leadership role that offers the autonomy to grow a team, develop an existing client base, and achieve chartership status.
