About the Role

Quest Search and Selection Ltd is partnering with a leading global supplier and retailer to fill a challenging and rewarding Technologist - Toys Specialist position. This business operates in the toy, gift, souvenir, and general merchandise sectors, offering a comprehensive end-to-end solution to its clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to ensure that testing, inspections, QC reports, risk assessments, and manufacturing processes meet the required standards.
  • Liaise with factory partners to establish sound QC processes and ensure adherence to and verification against these processes.
  • Collaborate with third-party partners overseas to schedule outsourced testing.
  • Visit factory partners during the manufacturing process to verify that products meet the required standards.
  • Conduct spot QC checks at UK and EU warehouse locations.
  • Work closely with compliance partners to ensure a seamless manufacturing process.
  • Ensure adherence to critical path deadlines.
  • Evaluate new factories to confirm they meet the necessary standards.
  • Develop risk assessments and detailed specifications for each product.
  • Escalate issues to the Product Development team when manufacturing standards are not met and oversee any necessary rework.
  • Stay updated on product legislation and compliance standards.
  • Conduct goods-in inspections on all deliveries, especially imported lines.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years + of experience in Technologist, Quality, or Technical job roles or similar.
  • Deep understanding of children's products.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • IT literate - MS Excel proficiency.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing Quality Control processes and conducting risk assessments.
  • Proven history of delivering high-quality products that meet required standards.
  • Experience collaborating with global manufacturing partners, particularly in the Far East.
  • Familiarity with creating product ranges for the UK, EU, and USA markets.
  • Excellent proficiency in both oral and written English.
