We are excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Assistant Producer to join our team on a fixed-term contract, focusing on delivering high-quality Rugby coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the Rugby Union production team throughout the season, contributing to all production phases, including brainstorming creative concepts, organizing shoots, and editing video segments for live broadcasts.
  • Assist the Executive Producer and other Producers in the weekly content creation and live Rugby events.
  • Participate actively in dynamic live production environments, ensuring timely coverage of significant stories and enhancing viewer engagement through insightful analysis.
  • Collaborate with the media management team to effectively archive and manage content throughout the season.
  • Contribute to the creative discussions during production meetings, presenting innovative and relevant ideas for features and video segments.
  • Maintain an understanding of social media trends to create compelling content that fosters audience growth and interaction.

This job description provides a general overview of the role and may not encompass all tasks. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, as well as travel for shoots, may be required.

Candidate Profile:

Who You Are:

  • You possess experience in a similar live broadcast capacity, adept at functioning in fast-paced environments.
  • A solid understanding of sports is essential; while specific knowledge of Rugby Union is not mandatory, a strong editorial instinct and eagerness to learn are crucial.
  • You are proactive, organized, and a collaborative team member.
  • You are confident in managing projects from inception to completion, including ideation, execution, and final editing.
  • You are a versatile Assistant Producer with a passion for crafting engaging content and features.
  • You effectively communicate your ideas and apply critical thinking in your work.
  • You have a genuine enthusiasm for sports broadcasting and a desire to contribute to a team producing high-quality programming.
  • While not essential, skills in coordinating video segments or experience with editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro would be advantageous.
