Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating and implementing effective sourcing strategies that align with the overarching Infrastructure Construction Strategy.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the team, fostering an environment conducive to success.
  • Overseeing the procurement process for sourcing and contracting, including the development of tender documentation, evaluation, and contract award.
  • Managing Framework Agreements and ensuring optimal commercial performance from contractors while nurturing relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Negotiating and finalizing contracts with external suppliers, contributing to bidding processes to meet budgetary goals aligned with business objectives.
  • Utilizing supplier relationship management tools to conduct supplier evaluations and ensure effective monitoring and management of supplier performance.
  • Coordinating the end-to-end procurement process, effectively communicating and resolving any issues that arise with customers and suppliers.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in supply chain management within the construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of JCT and NEC Construction contracts.
  • Proven track record in developing construction strategies.
  • Strong understanding of procurement methodologies, techniques, and policies.
  • Experience in managing contract and supplier performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor a team of supply chain professionals.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on the client side.
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent.
  • MCIPS certification.
  • Background in public sector regulated environments.
