Role Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee the engineering department, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will play a crucial role in quality assurance, personnel management, and performance optimization, collaborating closely with the Operations Director and Senior Leadership Team to implement engineering strategies for the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health, Safety & Environment:
    Implement safety protocols and manage incident documentation.
    Conduct equipment inspections and advocate for energy efficiency.
    Educate and communicate health, safety, and environmental concerns.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Ensure that process controls and equipment upkeep meet established standards.
    Assist in investigating complaints and conducting product trials.
  • Personnel Management:
    Design team structures and oversee scheduling.
    Mentor team members and apply human resources procedures.
    Identify training requirements and cultivate positive team dynamics.
  • Performance & Cost Management:
    Enhance equipment efficiency and manage financial resources.
    Maintain high standards of cleanliness and oversee inventory management.
    Lead capital projects and stay informed about technological advancements.

Candidate Profile:
  • Proven experience in a comparable position
  • Degree in engineering; professional certifications (e.g., Prince2) are advantageous.
  • IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH General Certificate is beneficial.
  • Electrical or mechanical qualifications or a completed apprenticeship.
  • Strong leadership, budget management, and project oversight skills.
