About the Role:
A Yard Assistant is a vital member of our team at Alsford Timber Limited, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our yard. This role involves a range of tasks, including loading goods into customers' vehicles, checking deliveries, stock rotation, and maintaining the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading goods from vehicles
- Checking deliveries and ensuring accuracy
- Rotating stock to maintain an organized and efficient storage system
- Maintaining the yard, including cleaning and tidying
- Providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
