We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to join our Supply Chain Team at Reed. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of day-old chicks across the UK and EU.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to ensure compliance with regulations, including driver, transport, animal welfare, and health & safety.
  • Manage the transport budget and optimize costs to ensure the most cost-effective delivery of day-old chicks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and 3rd party logistics providers to plan and execute transportation methods.
  • Champion bio-security and bird welfare, ensuring strict adherence to protocols and procedures.
  • Support the quality team in investigating complaints and ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Assist in the arrangement of procurement and lease agreements for new vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar role.
  • CPC qualified and member of Animal Transport Association.
  • Good knowledge of animal welfare regulations and customs procedures.
  • Valid class 1 HGV desirable, although not essential.
