Higher Level Teaching Assistant Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support across our Ofsted rated 'Good' one-form entry primary school. In this role, you will play a key part in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young learners, while also being confident to cover classes and lead small group activities as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the Class Teacher: You will work closely with the class teacher, helping to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting the development of essential skills, and ensuring that every child reaches their full potential.
- Covering Classes and Leading Lessons: You will be confident to cover classes and lead lessons when required, using your skills and experience to create engaging and effective learning experiences for Reception and KS1 pupils.
- Delivering Targeted Support: You will deliver targeted support to individuals or small groups of pupils, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Assessment and Recording: You will assist in the assessment and recording of pupils' progress, helping to identify areas of strength and weakness and inform future teaching and learning.
- Classroom Environment: You will create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment, promoting a love of learning and a sense of community among pupils.
- Collaboration with Staff: You will work collaboratively with staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment, sharing best practice and expertise to drive improvement and excellence.
- HLTA Qualification: You will hold a Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), demonstrating your expertise and commitment to teaching and learning.
- Confidence and Experience: You will have confidence and experience in covering and leading classes when necessary, using your skills and experience to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Curriculum Knowledge: You will have a good understanding of the curriculum, including the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
- Relationship Building: You will be able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, promoting a sense of community and collaboration.
- Communication and Organisation: You will have strong communication and organisational skills, able to work effectively with colleagues and manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to Child Safety: You will be committed to the safety and well-being of children, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
