Position Overview

Role: Associate Structural Engineer

Location: Leeds

Calibre Search is collaborating with a distinguished Engineering Consultancy seeking to appoint an Associate for their expanding Leeds office. This office provides a comprehensive range of design and engineering services across various sectors, including Education, Commercial, Residential, Airports, Defence, Energy, Civil Infrastructure, and Rail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer with a strong history of delivering design projects from initial feasibility through to practical completion.
  • Oversee the technical direction of client projects, ensuring high standards of delivery.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the local market dynamics in the Yorkshire/North-East region, leveraging this knowledge to capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Prepare bids and manage tendering processes effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external clients, industry stakeholders, and other consultants to develop innovative design solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate inputs from various disciplines on projects, taking financial responsibility for structural fees.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive postgraduate experience in major structural engineering projects, with a focus on low embodied carbon solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of design codes and standards relevant to structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, ensuring appropriate application at the project level.
  • Experience in construction implementation and site supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability in delivering designs for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber, from concept to detailed execution.
