Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Assembly and Integration

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Bolton. As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in producing and assembling missiles.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling and updating manufacturing instructions, ensuring they are accurate and current. They will design, commission, and test the associated tooling, and utilize tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and First Article Inspections (FAIs) to ensure industrial validation.

You will resolve technical problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and update route cards to reflect any changes due to re-works in activities. To maintain proper configuration control, you will incorporate design modifications into the manufacturing instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and update manufacturing instructions to ensure accuracy and currentness
  • Design, commission, and test associated tooling
  • Utilize FMEAs and FAIs for industrial validation

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 with a formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject. Alternatively, a BEng degree in a relevant engineering field or a minimum of twenty years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer is required.

You will also need to have knowledge to interpret design drawings to produce manufacturing build instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators, experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System level builds, and expertise and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team and read, analyse, and interpret documents for accuracy and compliance with Code, are essential. Effective collaboration, customer understanding, and prompt response are crucial.

It is highly essential to have Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) training and SAP experience.

What You'll Get to Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the production and assembly of missiles. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of our client's products, and will play a critical role in the Manufacturing Engineering team.

You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and technologies, including FMEAs and FAIs, and will be responsible for resolving technical problems and updating route cards as needed.

Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship is required. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
