Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Monitoring Officer to join our team at Canada Life UK. As a key member of our compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our control framework and identifying areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform independent compliance assessment reviews using risk-based methodologies to evaluate performance against regulatory and company requirements.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly those related to the FCA, Data Protection, and Financial Crime/Anti Money Laundering.
  • Collaborate with senior business leaders to ensure compliance practices, processes, and policies are followed and effective.
  • Lead and deliver a broad range of second-line of defence compliance assessment reviews across our multi-jurisdiction regulated businesses.
  • Provide input into the development and maintenance of the review methodology and risk-based approach to planning review programmes.
Requirements
  • Detailed working knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly those related to the FCA, Data Protection, and Financial Crime/Anti Money Laundering.
  • Proven experience in project management, with the ability to apply project management methods and disciplines to manage the delivery of compliance assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to analyse complex regulatory requirements and balance with business needs to make informed decisions.
  • Experience with data analysis and the use of analytics tools such as Power BI.
