Enfield Town, Greater London, United Kingdom Enfield Council Full time

Senior Finance Officer

Flexible working - Permanent, full-time position

Salary Range: PO1 £39,951 - £42,840

Enfield Council is a forward-thinking local authority, committed to enhancing the borough through a robust financial strategy, managing budgets exceeding £1.5 billion over the next decade.

Our mission is to foster a thriving community. We are actively engaged in revitalizing industrial zones, expanding social housing, and spearheading the construction of 10,000 homes in the Meridian Water area, making our Council an exciting place to contribute.

The Capital and Projects division is one of three integrated finance teams, delivering comprehensive financial services to the Council. The Capital and Treasury unit oversees the financial administration of all capital initiatives, including significant housing development projects like Meridian Water. Additionally, the team manages the Council's Treasury operations, investments in subsidiaries, and joint ventures.

As a Senior Finance Officer, you will leverage your finance expertise and CCAB qualification (or be in the process of obtaining it) to support capital initiatives. Your enthusiasm for financial analysis, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be essential as you enhance reporting and embrace new projects.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Strategic Property Services, utilizing financial models to assess the impact of financial decisions on the Council. Various financial methodologies, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Net Present Value (NPV), Payback, and ratio analysis, will be part of your toolkit.

We encourage applications from individuals with strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience working within a finance team. Experience in Investment Appraisal is highly desirable.
