About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Planning Specialist to join our team at Wardell Armstrong. As a key member of our Environmental Planning sector, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and development in the Scotland region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage a diverse range of planning and EIA submissions, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Provide strategic direction and support to the planning team, guiding them from project inception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of professionals within the public and private sectors.
  • Stay up-to-date with planning procedural changes and implications, advising team colleagues on best practices.
  • Manage project budgets and fees, preparing proposals and ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Work closely with clients, managing expectations and delivering results within tight deadlines.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of commercial, infrastructure, residential, and minerals policies, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Proactively seek new client relationships, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and business development.
  • Mentor junior staff members, facilitating career advancement and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in public inquiries, representing the company with confidence and expertise.
Requirements
  • Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) or EIA Specialist (CEnv or MIEMA) qualification, or working towards.
  • Proven experience in the private sector, with a strong understanding of the EIA process.
  • Excellent analytical and written skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
