Are you driven by the impact of education on individual lives? Do you have a natural ability to foster meaningful connections? Join GBS as an Academic Engagement Specialist, where you will be instrumental in guiding students through their educational experiences.
In this position, you will work in tandem with the Head of Student Engagement, Student Success Advisors, and faculty members to assist students in navigating obstacles and rekindling their academic pursuits. Your main goal will be to improve student retention metrics and support their progression in their educational journeys at GBS.
Note: This role does not provide sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities- Support students who are disengaged in returning to effective study habits.
- Conduct outreach initiatives to uncover barriers to student participation.
- Keep precise records of student communications.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to create customized plans for student achievement.
- Follow professional standards when engaging with non-attending students.
- Assist in the administration of surveys and data collection for analytical purposes.
- Facilitate the onboarding and enrollment processes as required.
- Ensure coverage of the Engagement Specialist role across all GBS locations.
- Possession of a degree with an understanding of safeguarding policies.
- Previous experience in supporting students in higher education settings.
- Excellent communication skills with the capability to connect with diverse groups.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a high level of computer literacy.
