Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer - Level 3 to join our team at AMETEK, Inc. This is a key role that will provide manufacturing engineering expertise in supporting existing and new products, defining new and supporting existing processes.
Main Responsibilities- Collaborate with manufacturing cell leaders, lean coordinators, and design engineers to improve process efficiencies and implement strategic Lean initiatives.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, routings, and visual factory displays, to ensure standard work and efficient processes.
- Implement lean manufacturing methods, such as 1-piece flow lines and visual factory, to reduce throughput times, rework/scrap, and work in progress.
- Lead and support the implementation of basic improvement tools, including 5S, 7 Wastes, visual management, and standardized work, to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Work with facilities and maintenance teams to ensure layout changes are implemented effectively and efficiently.
- Support the manufacturing cells in recording and analyzing production data, and ensure focus is placed on key issues.
- Assist in establishing product cycle times and monitor actual performance against standards to reduce manufacturing labor content.
- Initiate and lead improvement projects and CAPEX to enable new process and product introductions.
- Collaborate with engineering on product documentation modifications and parts obsolescence.
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for production cells to ensure customer schedule adherence.
- Lead and work in teams to develop process FMEA and implement improvements.
- Manage new product introductions and the manufacture of legacy products from release to production through the product life cycle.
- Mentor cell leaders on improved methods of manufacturing assembly and test.
- Proven record of successfully implementing Lean in an industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Good time management with a significant track record of planning and managing complex long-term projects.
- Significant IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel at an intermediate level.
- Experience working within an aerospace manufacturing environment, automotive, or closely related industry.
- Team player with strong leadership qualities and ability to motivate others.
