Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer - Level 3 to join our team at AMETEK, Inc. This is a key role that will provide manufacturing engineering expertise in supporting existing and new products, defining new and supporting existing processes.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with manufacturing cell leaders, lean coordinators, and design engineers to improve process efficiencies and implement strategic Lean initiatives.
  2. Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, routings, and visual factory displays, to ensure standard work and efficient processes.
  3. Implement lean manufacturing methods, such as 1-piece flow lines and visual factory, to reduce throughput times, rework/scrap, and work in progress.
  4. Lead and support the implementation of basic improvement tools, including 5S, 7 Wastes, visual management, and standardized work, to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  5. Work with facilities and maintenance teams to ensure layout changes are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  6. Support the manufacturing cells in recording and analyzing production data, and ensure focus is placed on key issues.
  7. Assist in establishing product cycle times and monitor actual performance against standards to reduce manufacturing labor content.
  8. Initiate and lead improvement projects and CAPEX to enable new process and product introductions.
  9. Collaborate with engineering on product documentation modifications and parts obsolescence.
  10. Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for production cells to ensure customer schedule adherence.
  11. Lead and work in teams to develop process FMEA and implement improvements.
  12. Manage new product introductions and the manufacture of legacy products from release to production through the product life cycle.
  13. Mentor cell leaders on improved methods of manufacturing assembly and test.
Requirements
  • Proven record of successfully implementing Lean in an industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Good time management with a significant track record of planning and managing complex long-term projects.
  • Significant IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Experience working within an aerospace manufacturing environment, automotive, or closely related industry.
  • Team player with strong leadership qualities and ability to motivate others.
