Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Morgan Hunt Group Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and specifying mechanical building services systems, ensuring that they meet the required standards and are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and specification of mechanical building services systems
  • Preparation and review of documentation, including designs, specifications, and assessment reports
  • Carry out detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools, including Excel, CAD, and IES
  • Site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works
  • Implementation of detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish the status of existing installations and gain sufficient information to recommend new or upgrade design proposals
  • Assisting with the development of junior engineers
  • Report and technical note writing
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Ideal candidate will be chartered or working towards this with CIBSE or IET
  • 5-10 years of experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment
  • Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients
  • Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards, able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and act on own initiative
  • Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools, including IES thermal modeling package, Microsoft packages, CAD, and Hevacomp
