Job Summary:
SJ Sourcing is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our HSW Team, you will provide functional Health, Safety and Wellbeing advice, guidance and coaching to our operational teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on the production, implementation and review of HSW plans, including construction phase plans and depot HSW plans.
- Ensure risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are prepared and reviewed as necessary.
- Escalate significant and potentially significant incidents to the HSW Manager and Contract/Project Lead immediately.
- Undertake incident investigations in line with the incident investigation procedure and identify preventative measures to prevent similar incidents recurring.
- Maintain the incident management database, including uploading supporting documentation and closing out actions.
- Ensure monthly HSW reports are completed and submitted accurately and on time.
- Review HSW trends with the Contract/Project Lead and establish and monitor any agreed improvement plans.
- Conduct HSW audits and inspections as per the schedule, recording findings and actions.
- Assist the Contract/Project to close out actions and non-conformances from HSW audits and inspections.
- Work proactively to build and maintain relationships with contractors, subcontractors, designers, suppliers, clients, enforcement agencies and other relevant parties.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in health and safety, preferably in highways/civil engineering.
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Technician, or Graduate membership of IOSH.
- Desirable: Working towards chartered membership of IOSH, NEBOSH Diploma, or NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Well-being at Work.
