About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Performance Engineer to join our team at MBDA. As a key member of our systems engineering team, you will play a critical role in providing performance prediction and analysis expertise to major defence programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical studies on missile performance using complex mathematical models to estimate key performance indicators such as range and terminal accuracy.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how the wider system affects performance and the knock-on impacts of changes to the design.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in aerodynamics, propulsion, lethality, guidance, control & navigation, and seekers to understand how each of these contributes to system performance.
  • Report performance data in a clear and concise manner in internal design reviews and external performance statements to customers.
Requirements
  • Enthusiasm for using mathematical models to assess system behavior.
  • Experience with data analysis using Matlab and Simulink (or similar).
  • Ability to capture and present technical data in a clear and concise manner for expert and non-expert audiences.
  • Understanding of the physical principles of aerodynamics, propulsion, guidance, and control.
