Astute People is seeking a dedicated Field Operations Technician to enhance our growing Operations Team within a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility.

This facility utilizes cutting-edge technology to generate 17MW of Heat & Power from recycled fats, oils, and greases sourced from the surrounding community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Site Operations Supervisor and collaborate with a Shift Team, occasionally working independently.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the CHP in compliance with both business and regulatory standards.
  • Perform first-line maintenance to maintain high levels of plant availability and performance while adhering to safety, environmental, and legal requirements.
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor with various projects and prepare for scheduled outages.
  • Oversee the unloading of materials onto the site, including fuel, oil, and urea deliveries, ensuring proper allocation to designated storage tanks.

Qualifications:

  • C&G/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering/Plant Operations or completion of an apprenticeship.
  • Proficient mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
  • Former Royal Navy Marine Engineers are encouraged to apply.
